Chequered flags at the ready as British Superbikes returns!
Earlier this year, we were delighted to announce an extension to our sponsorship of the Smith’s Racing BMW team for the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) season. However, due to the Coronavirus pandemic the season was postponed in March and ever since it’s been a long wait for the riders, support staff and spectators to see the action return.
Thankfully, the delay will be over on Friday 7th August as the first round of a revised schedule takes place at the world renowned Donington Park circuit. Five further meetings are pencilled in over the coming months with the calendar coming to an exciting finale on 16-18 October.
As part of the sponsorship agreement, Briggs Equipment branding will be prominent on both race bikes, the riders’ race leathers and the team’s clothing throughout the curtailed season. The championship will also be covered widely on TV and online, providing an international platform to showcase the Briggs brand. Eurosport, ITV and ITV4 are just some of the media outlets where you’ll be able to watch the Smiths team live in exciting, fast paced Superbikes action, whilst highlights of each meeting will be available via YouTube and ITV4.

With live sport having taken a back seat for a number of months, the return of BSB will only heighten the interest and intrigue in what is already a dramatic and pulsating competition.
“Whilst it’s brilliant just to see the action return, Smith’s riders Peter Hickman and Alex Olsen will be chomping at the bit to make a positive impression and get off to a flying start. Peter is firmly established as the world’s fastest road racer and Alex is widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects around, and we’re looking forward to seeing them both build on encouraging 2019 results.
