Briggs Equipment and Smiths Racing partnership continues into second year
Briggs Equipment is delighted to announce an extension to its sponsorship of the Smiths Racing BMW team in the upcoming 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) season.
As part of the agreement, Briggs Equipment branding will be prominent on both race bikes, the riders’ race leathers and the team’s clothing. The championship will also be covered widely on TV and online, providing an excellent and prominent platform to showcase the Briggs brand. Eurosport, ITV and ITV4 are just some of the media outlets where you’ll be able to watch the Smiths team in exciting, fast paced Superbikes action.
The deal with Smiths Racing will also cover the calendar of road racing at the Isle of Man TT, NorthWest 200 and Ulster Grand Prix. Building on Peter Hickman’s multiple successes at last season’s 2019 Ulster GP and revisiting the scene of his record breaking lap time at the TT it will no doubt be another exciting year.
David Turner, Marketing Manager, commented: “We are delighted to once again be sponsoring the Smiths Racing BMW team in what will be another pulsating season of the British Superbike Championship. The various events provide us with the opportunity to showcase the Briggs brand to a global audience, whilst also supporting two of the most exciting riders on the circuit.
“Peter Hickman is firmly established as the world’s fastest road racer and we’re looking forward to seeing him build on his impressive 2019 BSB campaign where he finished amongst the frontrunners. His teammate Alex Olsen is widely recognised as one of brightest prospects around and has his eyes firmly set on continuing his progression and achieving more success.
“Everyone at Briggs would like to wish all of the Smith Racing BMW Team the very best of luck for the 2020 BSB and we’re sure there’ll be lots to celebrate at the end of the season.”
Rebecca Pullin, Team Owner, Smiths Racing, said: “We are thrilled to continue our partnership with Briggs Equipment for the 2020 season. The relationship has proven positive on both parts and we look forward to celebrating further success together.
“Both Peter and Alex are excited about continuity of being on the same bike as the previous season and the team have been working tirelessly throughout the winter to further develop the BMW S1000RR for competition.
“Briggs’ core values fit well with our team ethos and we are delighted to be partnered for the journey once more.”
The opening round of the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship is at Silverstone National – 10 – 12 April.
