Briggs Equipment helped local transmission specialist ATP Industries Group Ltd reduce costs after the maintenance demands of their 15-year-old materials handling fleet began to increase.
ATP, based in Cannock, had used their previous materials handling equipment supplier for over a decade and when the costs of maintaining the vehicles became draining it was time to rethink their plans. Briggs responded by providing a complete materials handling solution to the company’s problems.
ATP set the standards for remanufacturing as Europe’s largest independently owned company who are licenced to remanufacture Automatic & Manual Transmission, Off Highway Transmissions, Torque Converters, ECUs and Electrical Components.
The company outgrew its original facility in 2010 and moved to an 18.5 acre site with new purpose-built facilities, which has allowed them to continue to service clients such as Ford, Volvo, Fiat-Chrysler, Aston Martin and JCB among others.
Multi award-winning ATP witnessed an unprecedented level of growth in their business and the existing forklift fleet struggled with increased demand for specialist parts. To maintain levels of productivity and crackdown on running costs ATP turned to Briggs Equipment.
“We needed a fresh look at our business output and having a much larger site, higher racking and demand at an all-time high, we really needed reliable equipment with a rapid response in the event of a breakdown,” said Alan Richards, purchasing and warehouse manager.
As an experienced asset management and engineering services provider we conducted a site survey and by taking on board the customer’s needs we were able to tailor their offering specifically to ATP’s requirements.
Along with a 1.6T 3-wheel electric Hyster truck, a 2.5T 4-wheel electric Hyster truck, a 1.4T Hyster reach truck and a 1.6T Hyster powered pallet truck, ATP will benefit from Briggs’ service support, 24/7 call out and three-hour engineer response time. Briggs Equipment also provide parts and servicing for equipment hired or purchased.
