Briggs at Multimodal offers unique asset management

Against a backdrop of high profile contract wins Briggs Equipment will be discussing its unique asset management proposition for port and freight terminal operators when it exhibits at Multimodal 2017 (NEC, Birmingham; April 4-6).

Awarded the largest and most diverse contract last year when it became the primary supplier of materials handling services to Peel Ports Group, Briggs is reinforcing its share of the multimodal marketplace with flexible solutions that add value and demonstrate innovation.

By delivering full asset management support – from procurement to disposal – Briggs not only meets current needs, but also takes into consideration business growth and a changing economic landscape to provide its customers with appropriate support into the future.

The preferred supplier to Malcolm Logistics, a leading provider of fully integrated road, rail and warehousing services, Briggs is also partnering with Forth Ports Group at the Port of Tilbury and Scotland’s largest container terminal, the Port of Grangemouth. In January, Briggs secured an additional £5million contract with container services specialist Pentalver to support its Cannock, Felixstowe, Southampton, Tilbury and London Gateway terminals.

Ian Tongue, National Account and Business Development Director at Briggs Equipment, said: “Increasingly, ports and freight handling businesses are looking into partnering with a single supplier to streamline their operations while they seek to increase capacity, improve efficiency and meet key environmental targets.

“During the past 18 months we’ve secured several major new contracts, which have cemented our reputation as a solutions provider and boosted our share of this marketplace to 60 per cent. Briggs Equipment is well-known as a supplier of Hyster reachstackers and laden and empty container handlers, but it is the scope of our overall offer, including finance, fleet management and engineering support, that will be our focus at Multimodal.”

As the UK and Ireland’s premier logistics event, Multimodal provides Briggs Equipment with the ideal platform to reinforce its credentials with ports, docks and freight handling yards. Innovative, customised solutions provide a response to current requirements, but by developing long-term relationships built on mutual trust Briggs helps its customers to achieve important commercial objectives as their businesses grow.

The only provider to meet Peel Ports Group’s requirements, Briggs delivers unequalled levels of engineering services expertise from a nationwide team of 600 highly skilled engineers. Round-the-clock support is available from dedicated teams based on site, ensuring a rapid response to service and maintenance requirements while also minimising equipment downtime.

BE Portal, Briggs Equipment’s market-leading asset management tool, continues to play a crucial role in the company’s partnerships with port-centric operations, helping to generate key efficiencies while simultaneously driving up productivity. With 24/7 access to reliable data, customers benefit from total fleet transparency and can see at a glance how their machines are performing. The system is also helping to enhance safe working practices as the data enables users to identify driver training requirements.
