Briggs awarded for efforts in supporting young people into work

Briggs were recently awarded the ‘Talent Match Mark Youth Friendly Silver Award’ by not-for-profit organisation Youth Employment UK, for their efforts in supporting young people into the workplace.

The award came as a result of numerous initiatives that Briggs have been involved with during the past couple of years. Not only does Briggs have excellent apprenticeship schemes for both engineer and office based positions, but have had a number of young people in from local schools and surrounding areas doing their school work experience placements.

The engineering apprenticeship on offer at Briggs, is a bespoke training programme lasting four years and is developed and offered in partnership with Stafford College.

Additionally, Briggs’ have worked with charities such as Talent Mark Staffordshire and the Princes Trust; offering 3-6 month work experience opportunities to young people to help them gain a range of skills to add to their CVs.

Briggs’ also hosted a mock interview day in conjunction with the Princes Trust, where 30 of the Briggs team gave up their time to help young people practice their interview techniques, providing constructive feedback and helping them to overcome their nerves.
