Ready, set, go! Charity karting day raises £2,500 for Young Lives vs Cancer

Briggs Equipment, its customers and partners have raised £2,500 for Young Lives vs Cancer after taking part in an adrenaline-fuelled day at Whilton Mill Karting Track.

The group of more than 60 enthusiasts took part in an initial safety briefing before getting suited and booted and taking to the track to compete against each other in a 90-minute endurance race.

All attendees were guided and supported by our sponsored British Touring Car Championship driver, Árón Taylor-Smith. The BTCC pro was on-hand to share some invaluable tips and tricks to help gain vital seconds around the racetrack.

Several of our equipment partners were in attendance too, including Fork Truck Control and Hako who all took part in the race and helped contribute to the total funds raised.

The main aim of the day was to raise awareness and funds for our 2022 Charity Partner of the year, Young Lives vs Cancer. The £2,500 raised will help the charity provide crucial support to young people with cancer and their families.

The team ‘It’s a stitch up’ were crowned champions at the end of the day, which came as no surprise as the group included Árón himself who helped pave the way to their success.

Leigh Edgley, Briggs Equipment’s Group Sales & Marketing Director, commented: “Charity is at the heart of everything we do here at Briggs, which is why it is important for us to continue our pledge and efforts year on year to raise money for such incredible causes.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and for everybody’s generosity as yet again, the day was a brilliant success. A lot of fun was had whilst raising valuable money for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity which provides vital support to young people aged 0-25 fighting cancer and their families.

“It was fantastic to see Árón getting involved at the event and leading from the front as a true Briggs ambassador.”
