By now you will have seen hundreds of adverts promoting the benefits of lithium-ion technology in powering forklift trucks. The topic seems inescapable, but has the information left you with a clear view of whether introducing the technology to your fleet will provide real benefit to your operation?

Following the very recent acquisition of Hitec we are pleased to report that both businesses and Hitec’s customers are already benefitting from the deal.

The first of a large consignment of used JCB equipment has been delivered to the Middle East from our Mallusk office.

After sponsoring a team in Rally for Heroes back in 2016, Briggs Defence has stepped up its support for the charity fundraiser and is a main sponsor of this year’s event, which is aiming to bring in £150,000 for SSAFA.

This year has been a record breaking year for staff fundraising at Cannock based Briggs Equipment with employees raising £37,054 for Newlife, the charity that donates specialist equipment to support disabled and terminally ill children across the UK. Briggs matches some of the funds raised by employees so the total donated to Newlife was £60,000.

The Bradfords Group is boosting its fleet with over 170 new MHE units supplied by Briggs Equipment. The new fleet covers 61 sites on which the groups’ businesses; Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd, Snows Timber Ltd and Crendon Timber Engineering Ltd operate and consists of a range of Hyster forklifts, Combilift sideloaders / multi directional forklifts and JCB Teletruks.

As part of its growth strategy, Briggs Equipment has executed a purchase agreement to acquire Hitec Lift Trucks Ltd, enhancing its coverage and strengthening its presence in a key geographic area of the country. Completion is expected to occur no later than 1 June 2018.

Taking place on Saturday 30th June – Sunday 1st July 2018 at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Burton-Upon-Trent, the Armed Forces Weekend is set to be a great family-friendly event. Visitors to the celebratory weekend are welcomed to show their support for our country’s Armed Forces, whilst enjoying an activity-packed, action filled day out in this beautiful Staffordshire setting.
