Cummins UK delivers Cummins generator sets from 4kW to 3000kW for a variety of applications including marine, retail, telecommunications, oil and gas, data centres, hospitals, construction sites and mining. The very heavy products that are handled at the company’s sites across the country can be potentially dangerous if not handled and transported in the appropriate manner. Cummins’ management therefore wanted to ensure the highest levels of safety for operators and other personnel and consulted with Alan Mood, Briggs’ National Solutions Manager for Cummins.

As loads become more varied and demands on operations increase, forklift trucks are required to move more than ever before, equating to heavier loads and faster movement.

Safety needs to remain a priority in every operation, and there are a variety of things a business can do to improve the safety of its operating environment by promoting increased awareness and ensuring suitable processes, however this can be further enhanced at the specification stage and a range of ‘add-ons’ can assist the driver in achieving optimal safety and comfort.

Briggs has worked with a number of charities over the past few years including Alzheimer’s Research UK in 2018/19 for which they have so far raised £50,000 with 4 months still to go, Newlife for which they raised £60,000 in 2017 and The Teenage Cancer Trust in 2016 for which they raised £93,000.

As part of its growth strategy, Briggs Equipment has acquired Hiremech Ltd, enhancing its coverage and strengthening its presence in London and the South East.

Since 2015, Cannock based Briggs Equipment have taken on a new group of apprentices into their recently established programme each year. The 2018 intake saw an additional ten apprentices join the 600 plus strong engineering team.

Cannock based Briggs Equipment are renowned for their fundraising activities, and have supported a number of charities over recent years including The Teenage Cancer Trust, Newlife and now Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Yorkshire Water Services provide clean water and sanitation every day for over five million people in the East Midlands, and have a number of sites throughout the whole of Yorkshire. Yorkshire Water Services became a Briggs customer over two years ago and since the relationship began Briggs have worked very closely with them and supplied them with a number of machines across eight sites.

Briggs Equipment recently delivered eight new machines to new customer PPM Industries’ site in Cannock this week.
